My team is building a device that collects data and will be placed on the back of a crocodile. Can any of the Sparkfun pressure sensors be fully submerged under water, with or without protection? If anyone has tested a pressure sensor fully submerged in water and can give info about this it would be greatly appreciated. If it is not Sparkfun sensor, any recommendations for another pressure sensor maybe from Digikey? Any info helps, thanks!
None of sparkfuns sensors can go in water without protection but there is one that would be good in water with protection.
If you encapsulate all of [SEN-12909 in epoxy except for the white gel, that can go under water and the data it produces can give you water depth.](https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12909)
What kind of protection would be optimal for our type of setting for the sensor, any recommendations??
Thanks!
I’ve already recommended epoxy. Acrylic resin could also be used., just don’t get it on the white gel.
