Jetson Nano Developer Kit and Intel 8265 NGW WiFi Card

Just wondering if there is anyone out there who has had a similar experience ?

Since the Jetson arrived on my doorstep, I have tried two Intel 8265 NGW Cards viz:-

One from a local PC Shop in Perth WA.

That one I just couldn’t fit two antenna’s

One from Banggood https://www.banggood.com/Wareshare-Wire … rehouse=CN

Can’t fit the darn antennas GR#X ! Even the ones it was supplied with !

I have a number of ESP32 Based Cameras which also come with this kind of antenna fitting and have had no problems using it.

This has so far consumed so much time that I’m toying with the idea of consigning this (second) card to the bin and using my Ethernet connection (which works fine), but that’s going to mean some major re-configuration of all the other thingies i ssh into and my network.

I had a glance at the NVIDIA forum, but can’t find a section that looks like it deals with this basic kind of stuff.

Any observations/comments would be appreciated

Hi Vic.

What do you mean by “couldn’t fit two antenna’s.”

If you’re having trouble with the U.FL connectors, [this guide might help you out.

I also found [a video that might be helpful too.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_neNpfQ38Q)](https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/three-quick-tips-about-using-ufl)

We actually had trouble sourcing connectors as well, which is why we went with the [USB dongle in our kits. Despite the information provided, the WiFi cards (that were recommended) didn’t fit perfectly with standard U.FL connectors. The workaround, that was suggested to us, was to use “tape”. (*If you do find some connectors that work on a WiFi card, let us know.)

If you aren’t comfortable utilizing the “tape” option, I recommend looking at our [WiFi USB adapter. We use this [driver, which has been tested and is known to work with the Jetson Nano. You can use another USB dongle, but good luck finding a proper driver… it took us a while to find an adapter with an available driver that worked.](GitHub - lwfinger/rtl8723bu: Driver for RTL8723BU)](Edimax 2-in-1 Wi-Fi 4 N150 & Bluetooth® 4.2 Nano USB Adapter - WRL-22824 - SparkFun Electronics)](Edimax 2-in-1 Wi-Fi 4 N150 & Bluetooth® 4.2 Nano USB Adapter - WRL-22824 - SparkFun Electronics)

Thanks Chris

Wrt. the guide, I didn’t see that but have had a look at it now…only option left is to use the " tape" option which doesn’t look all that long term.

The video you found for me is excellent and I found it when doing “Homework” on the card many moons ago. Jim from Jetson Hacks is excellent), but he also admits that his video makes it look deceptively simple and that he pretty much had a nervous breakdown in the process.

My point is that I was ready for this…it definitely shouldn’t be that hard !

Thanks Santa_Impersonator

Looks like you are a few steps ahead of me !

Personally, maybe I can get my money back from Banggood and try to get my Windows 10 PC and Network to see my wired Ethernet connections (or just buy an extra monitor).
