u.fl antenna connections that don't snap together?

Recently purchased two Intel AX210 NGW m.2 WiFi boards, one was no problem to snap the coax cables onto the card’s u.fl connections 1 and 2. The second card was not nearly so cooperative, so I purchased the SparkFun tool for firmly seating the cable onto the connectors. Except it’s still not snapping/clicking into place. My question is, is it possible the two connectors on the difficult m.2 card are the source of the problem? Exact same cable/antenna kit as the one that worked, so the coax cable and connectors are known to be good. Tried other cables from other antennas and they also did not snap/click on. :frowning: Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience? Thanks in advance for all replies.

Could be a damaged connector on either the cable or board? Check with some magnification to see if anything looks mis-shapen / bent.

Make sure both the board connector and cable connector are actually compatible. It’s also possible they won’t ‘click’ if they’ve been plugged / unplugged several times. Even if they don’t click together, they may still work just fine.

Thank you. Both the board and cables are practically brand new, connecting has only been attempted two or three times. Used different new cables from different manufacturers, still no success. Did in fact inspect both connections on the WiFi board with a magnifying loupe, and made certain everything was good, with no obvious blockers. Still waiting for the arrival of another WiFi board from a different supplier. My suspicion is this board has inferior or incorrect connectors. Just never ran into this before, and I’ve been swapping WiFi cards in laptops for years.
