FLIR Dev Kit + Nvidia Jetson Nano: What else should I get

Hi there,

Flir Dev Kit: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/15948

Nvidia Jetson Nano: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/16271

The nvidia has 2 MIPI-CSI connectors. Could you recommend products to buy so I can form the right connections between the two components? I’m a newbie

Thanks!

Just doing my own research, I found I probably should connect to the Jetson using GPIO

Flir Dev Kit could potentially be connected to:

Is this right?

I am not sure how to connect a FLIR (GPIO to CSI interface), I probably want to keep the CSI open for a standard optical camera.

Hi royhui.

The FLiR Dev Kit we carry doesn’t have a a CSI interface on it so you would have to go with a GPIO connection.

Unfortunately I don’t have any guides on how to hook it up or what software you would need to install on the Jetson to make the camera work, but given the right software and connections, it should work. I did find [this page that might be helpful but I think it’s for a different version FLiR Dev Kit than we carry.](https://me.knnect.com/blog/how-to-connect-flir-lepton-module-to-nvidia-jetson-tk1/)

Thanks @TS-Chris

Since Jetson Nano has a GPIO, and Rasberry Pi has a GPIO, Im just trying to get the same set up as the example you have provided in your video:

Could you check if I have everything I needed?

Namely: Breadboard, wires and Wedge? - See my 2nd post

Those the right parts, but the video shows an earlier version of the camera breakout and the newer board is different. I think you have what you need, but we don’t currently know how to make these work on the Jetson.

We don’t have a guide for this either, but it might be easier to use the [PureThermal 2 - FLIR Lepton Smart I/O Board along with the camera in your Dev Kit together on the Jetson since that makes the FLiR camera emulate a USB webcam.](PureThermal 3 - FLIR Lepton Smart I/O Board - DEV-20812 - SparkFun Electronics)
