Jetson Orin Nano Will not start

I received my Jetson Orin Nano 8GB through Sparkfun.

Out of the box I was able to connect some peripherals and boot it up, no problem.

I then proceeded to install a case to keep it protected over the long haul, the " Yahboom Jetson Case for Jetson Nano Orin: New Protective case for NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX/Jetson NANO/Orin NANO

Once installed, I turned the case power button on, it lit and so did the power indicator on the nano. the fan did not spin and nothing displayed on the screen.

I then carefully removed the nano from the case and all connections and plugging the nano in as before results in the same thing: power led indicator. no display. no fan.

Can anyone recommend any next steps? Did I brick my nano by simply putting it in a case very carefully?

Only if the case happened to short on the GPIO power pins…did you install the case while powered?

Also make sure you’re testing with the power supply that came with the Orin

Thanks for the reply.

I did not install the case with the power on. I am using the original power supply and it was unplugged until I felt the case was completely installed.

I have followed the instructions to connect the serial debug console to an ubuntu machine I have.

All I get, sometimes, is what seemingly looks like hex characters outputted.
