I am creating a water-softener salt reservoir level gauge, using a blue battery charger display board. So I got it all soldered and wired up, and I went to program the board, and I can’t get it to connect! About 4 years ago, I was able to build and program a Lilypad driven single tree ornament, using the same FTDI Basic connector as I am now. I do have the correct board and com port connected. I’ve verified the drivers are correctly installed. Any Help would be appreciated!
What is that board? I’ve never heard of this before.

You need to fix this first. What COM port is you FTDI actually on?
It is just a std LED bar battery indicator with a red outline of a battery. It usually comes with green LEDS, but I finally found one with blue. (see image below) It’s controlled by a TM1651 it has 4 x pins. vcc, gnd, clk, dtd. And there is a zip library to connect to it that I added to the project.
There is only 1 com port on the machine and when I plug-in the usb cable, it appears and disappears. Its a standard Lilipad Main board.
You might try a different computer or try the older IDE (1.8.19) and see if that helps.
1.8.19 there wasn’t a 19. BUT… 1.8.16 worked like a charm!!! Thanks!
And here is the finished project. Looks like Alibaba lied that the LEDs were blue!
Just need to add the wall wart.
