I found these little transceiver modules and thought they would make an excellent addition to the TRP/RLP modules SFE already sells. SPI interface, look easy to use, and even have a crystal oscillator output you can use to clock a micro.

I’m most interested in the RFM12B and RFM12BP. I would love to have them available from SFE. I found a couple other suppliers, but I like to combine parts orders to keep shipping down and I order stuff from SFE enough to make it worth it for me. I was not able to find a supplier for the surface mount versions, and would like to get a few of them.

I think they would be a great product to fit between the TLP/RLP modules and the Nordic stuff. The RFM12BP might have FCC issues with that power amp it has. I can use it with my ham license, but I’m not positive how it fits with Part15.

I got a reply from the manufacturer, they will sell them in sample sizes for $8/ea for the RFM12BP but you have to ship them from China. I didn’t get a quote for the RFM12B. I think they want to deal with companies, and there may be a minimum order. I found a site that said 10 was the minimum. There is also at least one source in the US selling the DIP modules without the amp, but I wanted the SMD units w/amp.

Futurlec sells them btw.

I’ve contacted them in the past and they said $3 for the RFM12B in sample quantities.

Thanks Cheater. I got replies from hoperf and they were willing to ship me 4 units. Haven’t had a chance to work with them yet, still need to get the PCB ready. :slight_smile:
