How do you merge two or more different designs into one Gerber file?
If I send one Gerber file to manufacturer shop, they will use all the board for one design. I do not need that large quantity. So I want to get two more more designs from board hous in one order.
Some companies might merge your Gerbers for you. There is a free program called Gerbmerge that will do it for you, or you can buy the full version of GC-Prevue… Some companies might refuse to process your order if they notice that you have supplied two PCBs in the one file.
If you’re using EAGLE, before generating gerbers, just open the board file, select all of the board and use CUT. Close the board and open a new one, then use PASTE. Open another board design and use CUT and PASTE it to the newly created board.
This new board will not be consistent with any schematic, it won’t even have a schematic. This should not be a problem since the designs should already be complete and ready for fab.
