I’m an intermediate level user going through some old parts I got back in 2018 to see if I can get some new life out of them.
I’m working with an older model of Arduino Pro Mini 3v:

To program the Pro Mini, I’m using the correct FTDI 3v, also purchased in 2018.

Everything was were purchased in 2018, and has been in my parts cabinet since. I am trying to do the basic exercise to get the OLED working, but have had no luck. I can confirm that the Pro mini will take a Blink sketch, but I can’t get the OLED to respond over SPI. Haven’t tried I2C yet since I really wanted to just use SPI without any jumper settings.
Running Arduino IDE 1.8.16. I haven’t made any changes to the code, but I’ll share it below. Same as the demo sketch provided for SPI. I’ve completely started over to check my wiring three times, so now I am just stumped. I read somewhere the blue OLEDs have a shelf life… could this OLED just be dead after 5 years, even if unused during that time?
