Micro qwiic OLED display quit working on Jetbot 2.1

The Micro qwiic OLED (LCD-14532) display on my Jetbot 2.1 quit working. The screen is blank and it won’t show when I poll for connected qwiic devices. When I have the OLED in series (as per the build instructions) with the qwiic Motor Driver, the robot will not operate. When I disconnect the OLED and connect to just the qwiic Motor Driver (ROB-15451), the robot will operate.

I also tried swapping which qwiic connector it was connected to on the qwiic phat, but no change.

Do you have any suggestions for further troubleshooting.

Hi, thanks for writing in on the forums.

From the sounds of things it seems like LCD-14532 had been operational before. How long was the part operational for? Do you happen to recall what the robot was doing before the LCD failed?

I had been using the Jetbot to capture images the day before, shut down the system over ssh and when I went to power up the next day the LCD-14532 didn’t display and the robot didn’t complete the normal startup (OLED display showing IP address and memory usage). I received the kit about 3 weeks ago.

Hmmm, I wonder if ESD hit the OLED display and destroyed it. Seems to be the only logical explanation I can think of at the this time.
