Microbit V2 getting 927 (incompatible error) with Gamer:bit

Hello,

We upgraded all our Microbits to V2. Trying to use with your Gamer:bit and getting 927. PLEASE tell me they are compatible. Is there a new library to make this work? If not, is it in the works?

Have you just rendered all our Gamer:bits useless?

I teach using these materials.

Please advise.

Thank You

Requesting a response please. This feels like something Sparkfun can fix with a software update to MakeCode.

Having the exact same issue - error 927 - when using code containing the gamer:bit extension on a micro:bit V2. (Incidentally also trying to use this for teaching.) No other extensions are being used and the code runs fine on a V1, so this really is a compatibility issue with the code Sparkfun has provided.

Seeing as there has not been a response from Sparkfun on this topic since last September: has anyone been able to find a workaround for this?

Gamer:bit (original version) won’t generate a HEX file. I tried the sample code provided in the documents/experiment guide. It won’t generate a HEX file either. It gives me an error message to connect to the internet. (I am connected and all other internet features are working.) I’m able to generate HEX files from all other code.

I need this for class on Friday… I feel like this product is not longer supported (based on other posters in this forum… please advise.

I bought the new version of this called the controller:bit… it has the same issue with the V2 microbit and gives the 927 error. Works fine with the V1.5. I’m using version 9 in makecode. I sent an e-mail to sparkfun and they referred me to the forum. I spent $500 for 30 these things and it appears they aren’t supporting their new product. Come on Sparkfun.

What is amazing, is that they are still selling this product and recommend buying a V2 with it. Sparkfun, can you please respond to this thread with your plans to fix the library? Only been two years since I found the issue.

This issue has been fixed.

This product’s extension has a dependency on Microsoft’s build process. If the usual method of installing the MakeCode extension gives an error, you will need to manually install the MakeCode extension. We have provided a local build of this extension that can be uploaded to MakeCode:

https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/mi … -extension

Let me know how it goes.
