need rotary and linear encoders

I think that you should add some low cost encoders like this…

and this…

http://www.solarbotics.com/products/gmwwk1/

there are also linear encoders, low-cost, a small plastic tape with small lines (like the rotary encoders but linear)

and some gearhead motors with encoder witch is VERY useful for robotics. i believe that this is something that really misses from sparkfun…

I like very much sparkfun it saves me a lot of time and money and encoders are something that i and many others need for our projects… I’d like to see some of this stuff…

Thanks

Too expensive. Wouldn’t it be easier to buy old ball mice and strip them from there? Each has 2! :stuck_out_tongue:

Old printers are better…

Yes this could work if only i need only some of them for MY hobby projects…

i can’t use this if i want to make something that i will sell… even for small amounts…

The best solution would be sparkfun to provide motors with encoders build-in…

The small motors that sparkfun has are very good for my projects but they miss encoders…

You know installing encoders (like the first link) is difficult… They are sensitive…

A low-cost encoder (considering that there aren’t too many) would be a bestseller i believe…

I searched internet but couldn’t find that… Except from e-bay of course… :stuck_out_tongue:
