NEO-M9N antenna bias voltage

Hi, I am using the M9N SMA breakout board. The antenna bias voltage is 3.3V but I need to bump this up to 5V. Do I need to turn off vcc_rf before I add an external bias? Can I just connect an external 5V bias circuit to the ANT1 signal while vcc_rf is still on without damage to the BLOX part? Any suggestions on the best way to bump this bias up to 5V would be great. Thank You Bill

Unfortunately I don’t think the GPS board is going to be very happy with 5 volts showing up at the antenna connector when it’s outputting 3.3 volts already. We don’t carry them, but what you’re needing is some sort of power injector that blocks DC from flowing back into the GPS. One of those would feed 5V down to the antenna but would prevent 5V from making it’s way back to the receiver. Something like the links below is what you’re after.
