I just wanted to share that I’ve started a project called OSARTZ which is an open source digital art canvas project. The goal is to build an open interface and market for digital art. The project should provide hackers, and those not so inclined, the instructions and resources that allow them to build a canvas to display digital artworks.
Affordability and simplicity of use are major concerns in this project. I started the project because I noticed a rise in art canvas options (meural, electrical objects, canviz…), but all seem to have private art distribution channels, which doesn’t seem very realistic for propelling digital art, as a medium, forward. Unfortunately, I don’t have much experience with hardware, so I need your help to make this thing happen. I’ll be adding designs, features and goals for the project to the blog (see link below).
I’m trying to organize the project as best as I can, but if you have opinions on how it could be better, please speak up.

Sparkfun (challenge): It’d be awesome to see your take on a digital art canvas.
Also, recently started a Kickstarter for the project in order to spread the word. You can find it at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ro … nav_search.
