Pads in the PCB but not in the schematic?

How can one put pads (For like a prototyping area) on the PCB without adding them to the schematic? In Eagle Cad that is.

You can either add test points to the schematic or just draw a box on the top or bottom layer with a line connecting it.

I think it is much better to actually add a test point into the schematic. The libraries for Eagle come with both through hole and surface mount test points.
