PC doens't recognize Shapeoko 2

Hi there. I’m super new to the CNC world. Haven’t even gotten the machine to work and I’m hoping someone here can help me get over this problem. I just bought a second-hand Shapeoko 2, I saw it working in the seller’s workshop, but when I got to my place and tried it, my PC doesn’t recognize it’s connected to a USB port. Tried 2 pcs already and nothing.

When I plug the cable into the USB port, the PC blips, but I can’t see anything plugged into it on the PC. Tried looking in Device Manager and no ports are visible. Installed FTDI Driver (as explained https://inventables.zendesk.com/hc/en-u … 0012793633), did nothing. Tried adding library to Arduino IDE (as explained https://inventables.zendesk.com/hc/en-u … 0012725634) but couldn’t do it.

Hope someone here could help me figure out how to connect the PC to the Arduino.

Thanks for any help

Try showing hidden devices in device manager; try swapping cables too? You may have to enable something in windows for legacy devices

I’m only finding stuff on our end for v3; might be worth also trying the carbide forums? https://community.carbide3d.com/ or the links here https://www.themakerstation.com/Shapeoko_2_CNC

Ok, I’ll try what you’re suggesting. Thank you
