To tell you that I am having problems pairing the SparkFun RTK Surveying Kit – GPS-17370 with my cell phone via Bluetooth.
I followed the steps in the guide on their website (SparkFun RTK Surveyor Hookup Guide), but it still failed to pair; The error that appears on the cell phone screen is the following: The GNSS instrument connection failed!
Steps that were followed:
• Connect the survey antenna to the receiver with the interface cable.
• Turn on the receiver.
• Receiver Link with cell phone via bluetooth.
Apparently the equipment has a factory fault, so I request its urgent exchange for another new and 100% operational equipment or in any case return the SparkFun RTK Surveying Kit – GPS-17370 equipment, cancel the difference so that they send me the model SparkFun RTK Express Kit – GPS-18380.https://twitter.com/marevalog/status/15 … 08/photo/1```
I wish there was a way to autodetect the instrument being used. I’ll talk to Avinab (the person behind SWMaps) to see if there’s any tricks we may be able to do.

Are you selecting the correct instrument before you connect? Please see this post: viewtopic.php?f=116&t=57751#p233449 and double check the hookup guide.
I’ll add this to the troubleshooting section as well.
Sorry, my fault. You have a Surveyor. Good to know.
Instrument model: u-blox RTK
You’re still selecting the wrong instrument type. Please chose ‘SparkFun RTK Surveyor’.
Fix type invalid
Good! You’ve gotten past your original error of “The GNSS instrument connection failed!” which occurs when you haven’t chosen an instrument.
‘Fix type invalid’ just means you are not seeing any satellites. Be sure your antenna is correctly wired up, and you are outdoors with a good view of the sky.
As always, if you’re uncomfortable poking around, please return the unit. We’ll get it diagnosed and fixed with 48 hours.
Or if you’re comfortable opening the device, take out the two screws and look at the SMA pin. This is where RF connects to the PCB. Make sure there is a good solder connection (no gaps).
You are supposed to have quality control and test your equipment before delivering it to the end user. It does not speak well for you that the end user must open the equipment to see if a weld is good or bad.

I want to return the equipment and get my money back, with whom do I do the procedure, you do not have any contact number to speed up these cases that cause discomfort.

We do and we do. I’m sorry it’s not working for you.

You don’t have to open it, but without the unit returned to us, there’s not much else we can do.
