We can not get the Qwiic Micro SAMD51 device to be recognized by Windows 10 consistenly. We connect to USB port and get USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED. We then disconnect and double tap reset button and Windows 10 sees devide. We then upload our sketch successfully but then the board resets and we get the same message back again USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED and COM ports change numbers too.
It seems the only way to get Windows to recognize the board is a reset double tap but the sketch does not run.
I’ve seen code do this before on SAMD21’s and SAMD51’s, it’s probably something in your code the board doesn’t like.
Try double tapping and then uploading a simple sketch like ‘Blink’ and see if that makes the board show up without a double tap.
It is a brand new board so we have not even loaded a sketch on it yet. We just bought it from Sparkfun and plugged it in. We tried loading the Blink like you suggested and still get the USB NOT RECOGNIZED error from Windows 10.
When even tried the double tap the reset button it connects and Windows 10 sees the board but once the sketch is uploaded through the Arduino IDE 1.8.5 it then resets the board and when the board reconnects automatically after sketch successful upload we get the error again USB NOT RECOGNIZED
A flaky USB cable can do this, try a different one and if the problem persists it could be a bad board.
If you purchased the board directly off our website, just [fill in the form on this page with your order number and the URL to this forum post and we can replace it for you.
