Raspberry pi 5 development kit

I’ve just got my pi 5 dev kit in hand but the fan in the case does not clear the included heatsink. I could mount the fan on the outside of the case but I’d like to keep the kit as jankless as possible. Any suggestions? It’s possible that a fan that’s maybe a mm thinner may fit but one would also have to shorten the mounting screws.

Odd - it looks like the heatsink is mounted on thermal padding

…can it be squished/compressed a bit? If it’s only off by 1mm, I know it’s not the ideal situation but I’d probably fiddle/grind/whatever to get 'em to fit
