Raspberry Pi 5 Network Drops

Good afternoon,

I purchased a Raspberry Pi 5 to upgrade an existing Raspberry Pi 3B+ installation on my network. Everything was running smoothly at first, but it has started to randomly drop on and off the network (sometimes after 24+ hours). I am looking through the syslog and there is nothing pointing to OS or software issues that would be causing it to drop.

I have attempted to re-flash the OS (Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS) on a new SD card. I have replaced the ethernet cable. I also replaced the power cable, but that has not mitigated the issue. The power supply is an Anker 360 Charger (60W) that is currently powering another Raspberry Pi 5 and a Raspberry Pi 4.

Is this networking issue something I can further diagnose, or is it an issue with the board itself? The other Raspberry Pi 5 that I installed is working perfectly!

Thank you in advance for your help!

A hot Pi 5 might misbehave. Check temps:

vcgencmd measure_temp

Sustained >80 °C could cause instability. Do you have active cooling (fan, heatsink)?

I am using a case with both a heatsink and fan (GeeekPi Metal Case with Heatsink). So far the Pi hasn’t gotten hot enough to audibly run the fan. The temps were relatively normal during the last few network drops. Please see below:

The network on this Raspberry Pi 5 is stable right now, but running vcgencmd measure_temp gives me the following:
temp=47.7’C
