Raspberry Pi stuck on boot

Hello,

I bought the raspberry pi 5 with the new AI HAT last week. I received the order on Friday. During the weekend I was setting up my raspberry pi and it seems it always gets stuck on boot no matter what option I choose. The issue I am having is described below.

" I tried SD boot (with 32 GB and 128 GB), Network boot and USB boot as well. SD boot gets stuck at fs_open: 'armstub9-2712.bin" line. USB boot also gets stuck just a line after this line which says "Read kernel img “. The network boot also gets stuck after downloading the installer and gets stuck. I have tried multiple variation of OS from the RPi Imager (64 bit, 32 bit, recommended will additional software, I also tried downloading from the archive), but none of them work.”

The official raspberry pi thread can be found here: https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=363184

I have filled the RMA request form and am waiting for the update.

Any way that I can get a refund or a replacement or make it work? On top of that I cannot check whether my AI kit works or not.

It sounds like you’ve taken all of the steps…the only other things to check are the power supply and maybe a different SD card formatter/imager

If those don’t work and you’ve already made an RMA just hang tight

I have tried Raspberry Pi Imager which works for my Pi 3B. For power supply, I used the official Raspberry Pi and Canakit 45W PSU. I also tried the Raspberry Pi official PSU for Pi 4 as well but no luck. Both of them (RPi5 and Canakit) supplies 5000mA current and the RPi4 PSU supplies 3000 mA which I can confirm (as expected) in the debug screen as seen in the pictures from the Raspberry Pi official forum. For SD card formatter, I have used the inbuilt formatter from Raspberry Pi and also SD card formatter (SD Memory Card Formatter for Windows Download | SD Association).

Alrighty - if you’ve already filed for an RMA feel free to reference this post if need be and we’ll get ya fixed up
