Raspberry Pi 5 dead ?

Raspberry Pi 5 - 8GB

I received the RPI last week.

Work correctly for a week then stop booting.

no video

no ethernet or WIFI (IP Scanner don’t see the RPI)

uart detect nothing (Putty or Screen)

At startup the RPI show a red led.

If the SD card isn inserted the led flash green slowly 9 times

otherwise (without SD card) led flash green slowly 8 times.

Then led is off for 10-15 seconds.

This cycle repeat forever…

I try to boot with 2023-12-05-raspios-bookworm-arm64-full and

ubuntu-23.10-preinstalled-desktop-arm64+raspi with two different SD card

without any success: is RPI dead ?

What can I do ?

Thank you.

8/9 flashes both used to indicate SD issues; this changed with 4x Pi models and I’m not sure if reverted back…but I would suspect SD cards issues first (I’d get a 3rd just to be sure, preferably 32gb uhs1 or 3) or try re-flashing the bootloader

If none of that works: Was it purchased from us? If so head over to www.sparkfun.com/returns (contact vendor if purchased elsewhere) and we’ll get ya squared away

Got a third SD 32gb uhs1 card. Flash with Raspberry Pi Imager

(using Raspberry Pi OS (64-bit) (Recommended), first item in Imager window)

without any success: led still flashing 8 times, no video.

try re-flashing the bootloader

How can I do this ? the rpi has no input or output at all.

No way to interact with the rpi.

Was it purchased from us?

Yes. Order number: 9904922.

I’ve ordered 2 Raspberry Pi 5 8 GB and 1 of them did not boot up straight out of the box. There is no activity, no light, nothing. I’ve even tried with the POE adapter and still nothing. It just will not boot or turn on. The other one is working with no issues. Based on this forum, I’m not the only one with similar issues.

Order # 9911192

I have contacted both of you via email
