Reliable power supply for the GM862-GPS

Im looking for a reliable power supply for my arduino and GM862 setup. I have tried a standard 9v battery but the module seems to turn itself off after a short time. I need something thats portable and can power the units enough to send sms messages.

Any thoughts?

Here are two 9volt batteries that I have used

The C cells have powered my GM862 for over 6 hours

and those powered arduino aswell as the GM862? I have a feeling the the arduino demands large ammounts of current?
