I have a SFE RTK Facet L-Band, and recently supplemented it with the Torch, and I love them. Aside from using them as a RTK base-rover pair I’ve come to rely on recording long term GNSS observations with Facet (configured as a “base”) for Precise Point Positioning (for lack of better resources for locating reference points where I live). I let a student use my Facet as an RTK base station, and now I can’t configure it to collect GNSS observations for PPP.
Now any way I configure it as a “base” the system goes through the routine for “surveying in the location”, and then the display shows that it’s broadcasting RTCM data (even when I uncheck NTRIP options), and I can no longer convert the ubx observations / record to RINEX for PPP.
In my experience as a human I’m sure I’m doing something stupid- hopefully someone here can help point it out for me :-/ Thanks!
Welcome! You can always Factory Reset the device if you’ve got it into an odd state. If you’re doing post processing, be sure to enable “Logging Defaults” to enable the RXM messages.
Thanks for the very quick and informed reply (and links to resources to help me understand the system better)! Using the logging defaults to enable RXM (RAWX and SFRBX) solved the issue, and saved my sanity
For posterity, I had already done a factory reset (several times), and reverted to several earlier versions of the firmware (noting that the student had updated to the latest version), without successfully resolving the issue…
Thanks again for the quick reply, and importantly for developing these very awesome products!
Yay! Your kind words help make it fun around here Let us know if there’s anything else that pops up, and always be weary of those pesky students! (But really, thanks for teaching them!)
