At this risk of sounding dumb, is there a way to be notified when a new version of FW is compiled and anything similar to “Release Notes” for the new version?
IE: I just noticed that RTK Surveyor v4.2.bin was released 2 weeks ago. I have no idea what changed since I was not actively following any issues in the FW Repo.
This isn’t a complaint at all. But if I’m missing something easy, I’d love to learn
Ah, sorry. We don’t use Releases on the Binaries repos. Only on the main Firmware repos. My suggestion would be to subscribe to Releases on the main Firmware repos, or All Activity on the Binaries repos.
Just a reminder, the Release Candidates are the wild west and should not be used in the field. We are often breaking one aspect of the firmware as we add features in another area.
We regularly run the github action that compiles and creates a binary without fanfare or announcement so that we can check out its performance on the variety of platforms it needs to work on. That’s what you’ll see in the binaries repo. You will not see any releases on that repo. Once we do a release or pre-release of a stable binary, you’ll see that on the Everywhere release page. We generally don’t do a pre-release until we’re looking for feedback. v2.1 is still unstable enough (mostly EVK network issues) that we have not yet started asking for feedback. That said, if you see a bug, or need a feature, feel free to post an issue.
Maybe there’s a simple way to keep an eye on the RC JSON file for an update… There has to be a simple web browser utility / plugin / extension somewhere which will notify you when a web page is updated…
RTK Facet mosaic L-Band will show up today, full launch tomorrow - $1500. I know to never trust a unit’s reported HPA, but I got 0.003m while shooting the product photos (using OSR from a local base station, not SSR). Datasheet specs 6mm. The mosaic is a monster. The fact we can also directly receive and decode the PointPerfect L-Band signal is just too cool.
