Sparkfun RTK Facet: Don't understand how to update the firmware at all

Hello

I’n new with the Sparkfun RTK Facet (Firmware v2.4). It works very well.

But I don’t understand quite a lot about how to update the firmware (according to https://docs.sparkfun.com/SparkFun_RTK_ … re_update/)

In the mentioned serial connection, the is NO menu item for a Firmware update.

I see exactly this base menu:

SparkFun RTK Facet v2.4-Aug 27 2022

3) Configure Base

Could the reason that I don’t see a “Firmware Update” menu item with a serial connection be that an SD card with firmware has to be inserted first?

Last but not least, I cannot find any firmware for the “Sparkfun RTK Facet - GPS 19984”. I found the github repository, but there is mentioned a firmware “Sparkfun RTK Surveyor”.

Could somebody help me how to find the firmware for the Sparkfun RTK Facet?

As I saw, other installed the Surveyor firmware on the Facet by mistake… :expressionless:

I’ve done so many firmware updates on so many different devices, but I’ve never lost myself so much. I’m really embarrassed. Maybe someone can clearify the one or other issue with me? :oops:

Addendum:

Can it be, that I have to install the “RTK_Surveyor_Firmware_v3_6.bin” on my RTK Facet?

I can’t imagine, but I do not see any other firmware within the downloaded github repo? And the description (README.md) says clearly “…This repo houses the compiled binaries for the RTK product line.”

Hi Roman,

Yes, please install the latest firmware ( RTK_Surveyor_Firmware_v3_6.bin ) from https://github.com/sparkfun/SparkFun_RT … e/releases . All the RTK products run the exact same firmware. Apologies if it was not clear in the documentation.
