Struggling with RTK L-Facet Software Update – Need Help

Hi everyone,

Our company is having trouble updating the software on our RTK L-Facet and feels like there’s a lot of implied knowledge that we’re missing. We have no experience with GitHub, and when visiting the site, we can’t figure out how to download the software. Currently, the version installed on the RTK is V4.1. I am not sure if this helps provide more information but we use:

  • Windows OS
  • Android Phone that connects to Sparkles via QField and NTRIP Client
  • Located in New Zealand

We’ve attempted to update the software wirelessly by entering the IP address in Chrome, but that didn’t work. We’ve also tried using RTK.local, but that resulted in an error. Additionally, we started experimenting with the GUI method, but when we go to GitHub, we’re unsure which files we’re supposed to download.

We’ve tried googling solutions, asking AI for help, and browsing other forums, but we still can’t find a simple, step-by-step guide for beginners. The SparkFun website is also quite overwhelming.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

V4.1 is the latest release for the Facet, so you are up to date.

As far as updating, I prefer a SerialUSB connection with an Android tablet.
You will need a Serial Terminal on your Android, and there is a niffy connection guide from Sparkfun.
