Please point out if there are other vendors with similar capabilities.

To me they just look like Sparkfun’s serial backpack with a (probably) more powerful PIC or AVR and the spare pins broken out to headers…

It’s just my opinion but, if i wanted one, i would make it myself for the coding experience…

Plus you wouldn’t have to stick with either “Yellow Green, Blue or White Backlight” LCD’s.

By posting another link, you’ve pointed out it’s not overly difficult to design one (and charge a premium), in fact, in the picture of a

“melabs Serial LCD Controller Module” in the second link, i can see a Microchip logo…
