I have recently retired and have pulled this CNC machine off the shelf in my shop to try to create a few projects with my Grandchildren. Does anyone know if the Carbide Create or Carbide Motion software products work with this CNC? I seem to remember I put it on shelf a few years ago because the existing CNC software at the time was incapable of driving this product due to an interrupt issue. Is there control software for this device? If not, is there an upgrade path to replace the controller board with one compatible with the Carbide Products?

Hi Bill.

At one point in time Carbide had a version of their software that would work with the SparkFun controller but I don’t know if they have that anymore. You could try emailing them to see if they still offer that. If not, you should be able to swap the SparkFun controller for a Carbide one.

Thanks, I did figure out it appears you can use g-code from Carbide Create with the Universal g-code sender. Seems it may not be necessary to replace board.
