Soft Power Switch

Hello!

I have a few questions about your soft power switch: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/17870

It seems to do all the fancy stuff that I want it to. But I’m wondering, the clamping diode seems to make sure that only 3.3V gets to the MCU GPIO? I wanna make sure that’s why I’m asking

Also, the diodes D2 and D3, what types of diodes are they and could I perhaps get the part number or model for them? I plan to integrate this circuit on my PCB later on once I’ve bought two of these Sparkfun boards and tested them.

Thanks allot, epic products as usual!

D2 is a 3.3V zener diode. Probably this one: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/17208

Yes. This is to ensure 3.3V output, not more than that.

D3 looks like a Nexperia 250ma,100V diode: https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/schottky … rs/1038054

Thank you for taking the time to reply!

Will these work:

Looks OK to me.

Thanks pal, appreciate it!

Bumping this thread to ask for help. Everything with the schematic works except for one thing (or two things, probably the same issue). It will not shut off. Driving FAST_OFF low will not shut the circuit down. As well as holding the button for a long time (should kill the power), but it doesn’t.

I have have most certainly made a mistake with the circuit since I modified it a little bit from the original to remove stuff I don’t need.

I may add that SUPPLY_EN in my schematic is the same as VCC in the original schematic, it enables power to my power supplies on the board.

Appreciate any help, thanks!
