I agree with gussy there. A place to get questions answered specifically for BatchPCB and just a general forum to ask studid questions about pcbs would be nice.
I agree with gussy too. If someone wants help with a particular piece of software they should go to that software’s forum/website, unless it relates directly to BatchPCB.

What attracts me to SFE is a community of individuals who have similar goals and interests. If I have a question about Eagle, for instance, I’d rather ask it here than going to the appropriate domain, where I may ask some stranger a question and then bid them goodbye forever. I’m really appreciative that SFE has been tolerant about off-topic posts, and hope they continue that way. Finding others who want to create electronic gizmo’s in their spare time is not easy, so a resource like this is a treasure. Ultimately it is up to SFE what to title their forums and if they tolerate us newbies asking silly questions in irrelevant forums then that is fine with me.
Bad idea! Sub-dividing the forum creates the problem that we face on other venues ([EAGLE Wiki, EAGLE Support forum) - too many options or complexity for trivial (but important to the poster) issues.
I like the current arrangement.
This forum exists to support BatchPCB - regardless of which tools are used for CAD. I learn more about BatchPCB from the non-EAGLE users, although I only use EAGLE myself.
