As a new Eagle user AND a new Vista user, I’m tearing my hair out trying to figure out how to gain access to the CAM output (and other) files. Yes, I know that Vista frowns upon writes to the program directory…, and I have in consequence downloaded/installed 5.4 (files were built using 5.3)into another (i.e. NOT Programs) directory…, but how in the WORLD to get all of my completed files moved over there into the right spot.
I need someone to be VERY explicit about how to go about this as I’m on the verge of total frustration right now. A plain example of doing this would be most appreciated.

Have you tried posting to the EAGLE newsgroups at Cadsoft (news.cadsoft.de)?

I’m not sure if this is specific to Vista(I use XP), but in the File field of the CAM processor, I simply type in the full path to where I want the files to go.
Example:
C:\dev\avr\PCB\TestProject\gerbers%N.sol
I’ve never encountered a situation where this didn’t work. You may have to create the directory in Explorer before you run the CAM processor though.

Are you trying to FIND the files? I am running the latest Eagle on my Vista laptop and this really got me the first time as well. I was creating projects and running cams and I could’nt find where they were going. Turned out, in Vista, a folder named simply “eagle” is created under My Documents and all of the project files, cam output and other related files get put here.
Once I found it, it wasn’t a big deal. In fact, I prefer it this way now because I used to go through the trouble to navigate all the way through Program Files>Eagle>Projects>ect. to get to cam output for sending to a board house. Now, it just seems so much easier and I never thought to change the target. Doh!
