Tiny midi player

Hi Sparkfun,

I was interested in creating a tiny midi player, similar to something you’d find in a greeting card. All it would do is play some seconds of a midi or recorded song when a button is pressed, but I’m frankly overwhelmed by the number of options on Sparkfun. Does anyone have recommendations on how I’d go about this?

Hi Adagar.

We don’t have anything really tiny unfortunately. It’s out of stock at the moment for a re-design but the [Qwiic MP3 Trigger would be the smallest thing we have once it’s back in stock. As long as MP3’s on a SD card are OK with you, that might be a possible solution.](SparkFun Qwiic MP3 Trigger - DEV-16892 - SparkFun Electronics)

TBH It doesn’t really need to be that tiny, the main thing I want to avoid is spending a ton of money on something like an MP3 Shield + Arduino or LilyPad, which seem a lot more powerful (and therefore expensive) than what I need

You might look at the [Little Soundie.

It does have a few limitations though, the first being that it only has about 450 kilobytes of storage space for audio so you can’t play a very long clip and the other is that you have to press a button on the board to turn it on.
