Tracking with Ultra-Small UHF RFID Tag

Hey,

I want to make a project where I would track one insect with this Ultra-Small UHF RFID Tag (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/16464) in the box.

Is it even possible to track the insect in a box 40x30x30 cm with this RFID tag glued on them?

I want to get the exact coordinate (x,y,z) of the tag in the box.

How many antennas and readers should I have? I have lots of space for antennas.

Do I need the any signal amplifier?

Can you please advise me which (and how many) antenna and reader should I get.

My goal is to quickly find a specific insect among other insects.

Can RFID tag make sounds when I press the button on reader?

Thank you for your help

Domen

Your best bet would be

Antenna https://www.sparkfun.com/products/14131

1st adapter https://www.sparkfun.com/products/14132

2nd adapter https://www.sparkfun.com/products/662

Reader https://www.sparkfun.com/products/14066

Then go through the hookup guide https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/si … okup-guide that will walk you through how to use the reader

To get exact x/y/z you’d probably want to get 2-3 setups and program then separately, then integrate the data from the signal strength of each tag into a main program that is tracking them
