Has anyone been able to connect the Thing Plus Matter board as a new device to the SmartThings hub?

Besides trying to onboarding the Thing Plus Matter, I would like to use the I2C interface, but I have not found support in the Simplicity IDE. I certainly could develop a library based on the Arduino code, but it just seems like reinventing the wheel. I have been looking for a device that will support the Samsung Smartthings interface, or Amazon/Google interface. I really want to add I2C devices to the infrastructure such as monitoring my water tank/pump, heating, wood stove temperature. Things that are not mainstream, but are important to me.
