So I recently got one of these https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10920. I cannot seem to get it to do anything useful. I set up a serial port with a 9600 baud rate. I get data off of it however after outputting the “$GPGGA” data fix it just tells me that the time is 11:59 or so. It will increment time until power is taken away at which point when repowered it displays the same message. After the time comes through the rest of the stream quickly becomes garbage with the data fix signal and time occasionally mixed in. It transmits this data even without an antenna connected. I’m not sure if it’s in some sort of default state but I cannot seem to find any good documentation on this. Everyone just seems to say you wire it up and you’re good to go.
Have you tried it outside or very near a window? You might need to give it a few minutes to get a fix.
