Background :
I have an 8 channel (all playing simultaneously) installation in gallery.
Have used the following solutions successfully :
1 :
4 x Balway BY8001 stereo media players all playing simultaneously.
This works fine but there is the occasional glitch, happily unnoticable
due to the randomness of the program material.
Very cheap (the BY8001s are around $3 each), but a rather messy solution.
2:
Waveplayer8 - from Waveplayer Systems, a German manufacturer.
Worked perfectly, but recently began distributing through Thomann, which
put the (already expensive) price beyond reach.
This brought me to the Tsunami Super WAV Trigger from Sparkfun.
Bought one (SKU WIG20636), Inv 10674661
Inserted an Apacer 16GB card with a single file on it
Filename “1moon.wav”
FAT32, 32KB file alloc
Applied 5 volts to the board
got blue flash on status LED, 150ma current draw
Momentarily shorted Trigger1 to common
Status goes red for a second
and NOTHING ELSE HAPPENS
No audio appears at the outputs.
Q: Am I doing something wrong or do I have a defective unit?.
Have verified SD card plays OK on a PC.
