Is this battery prismatic cell or pouch cell?
Hello, and thanks for posting your question!
All the Lipo batteries we carry are pouch cells, with the exception of the few 18650 batteries we carry that are enclosed in a metal tube.
Hope this helps, and have a great weekend!
Thanks for your kind answer.
I have one more question regarding this battery.
I would like to know the material for cathode and anode.
I’m sorry, but I don’t have an answer for that. SparkFun doesn’t actually make batteries, we just carry them on our website. A internet search for “what are lithium polymer batteries made from” might get you the info you’re looking for though.
Thanks for your kind answer.
I did battery cycling with this type of battery.
from the data sheet, this battery’s rated capacity is 400mAh.
However, When I followed standard charge/discharge procedure from data sheet, the capacity is almost 440 ~ 450mAh.
*standard charge/discharge procedure : charge with 0.2C(80mA) up to limited voltage(4.2V) and charge with limited voltage up to end-of-charge current(0.01C, 4mA), discharge with 0.2C(80mA) constant current discharge to the discharge cut-off voltage(2.8V)
I am little bit confused whether the capacity from my experiment is correct
Is it right capacity value of this battery?
Battery capacity can vary slightly from cell to cell but the over all average for a large number of cells should be close to 400mAh. A little more than the stated capacity is normal and nothing to worry about.
If your tests are indicating 440-450mAh, that’s probably accurate and you just get a bit of extra for your money.
