Hello to all,
I have a question about the SparkFun LiPo Charger/Booster 1A.
The switch isolates the battery from the circuit. So if the switch is off I can’t charge the battery. The battery does not discharge either.
However, I would like to know if the card allows to disable the battery discharge, i.e. to cut the booster outputs? But I would like to know if the card allows me to disable the battery discharge, i.e. to cut the outputs of the booster?
After searching several times it seems that the EN pin is the one that allows this, but the documentation first mentions that the EN pin allows to disable the charging. Then it mentions that it disables the boost. Does it disable both? Only one?
Hookup guide I followed : https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/sp … 1681748065
I’m quite confused
I would just like to have a switch that when ON discharges the battery and therefore powers my circuit, and when OFF isolates my circuit and allows charging.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Emerick
Based on the information provided in the SparkFun LiPo Charger/Booster 1A hookup guide you followed, it seems that the EN (Enable) pin on the board is responsible for controlling both the charging and boost functions. When the EN pin is enabled, it allows both charging and boosting operations. When the EN pin is disabled, it should effectively disable both the charging and boost functions simultaneously. Therefore, if you want to have a switch that discharges the battery and powers your circuit when it’s ON, isolates the circuit, and allows charging when it’s OFF, you may not be able to achieve that using just the EN pin on the board. To accomplish your desired functionality, you may need to implement additional circuitry or use external components that can control the battery discharge and charge separately. It’s recommended to consult the SparkFun technical support or forums for further guidance on modifying the board or finding alternative solutions that meet your requirements [. ](https://www.expresshr.onl/)
