USB access for GPS-RTK Dead Reckoning pHAT for Raspberry Pi

I’m looking at picking up a gps / imu unit for a project.

I’m looking at this kit, but have some questions.

  1. I’d like to use this with my Ubuntu PC via the usb-c connector and a Raspberry Pi via pi connectors. Is this capable of delivering GPS data for both of these use cases? Can I access all GPS data via USB?

  2. It says that these only act as a rover and must be connected to a base station. What exactly is a base station? Is it just a computer or Pi or is it another GPS sensor that has to be stationary somewhere in the vicinity of these sensors? I need these to go on a Vehicle that will travel for miles in a city.

  3. Do you know of any ROS / ROS2 packages available for these? I can write my own ROS / ROS2 nodes if need be but it’s always nice when there are available packages.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing back from you.
