Use as reader? SparkFun Qwiic Dynamic NFC/RFID Tag

I made the wrong assumption that with the SparkFun Qwiic Dynamic NFC/RFID Tag I can read data from e.g. RFID Tag - Transparent MIFARE Classic® 1K (13.56 MHz)

But according to this (and my own desk experience here) that does not work that way but I need a NFC reader.

Is that correct?

I think about ordering the last one as I heavily use Qwiic, using the kits’ ID-12LA

Can the Reader read data from the RFID Tag - Transparent MIFARE Classic® 1K (13.56 MHz) mentioned above?

You need a 13.56 MHz RFID reader. For example, the
TRF7962A Fully Integrated 13.56-MHz RFID Reader/Writer.(https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/trf7962a.pdf)
