WAV Trigger firmware

hello everyone,

for a small project that I’m building, I’d like to make a custom PCB with the WAV Trigger processor on it. I’m wondering if I can use a bare STM32F405RGT6 and program (with FTDI basic) using the provided firmware update. Or is the firmware update supposed to be used on a chip with a particular bootloader on it? In that case, I guess I need to desolder the chip from the WAV trigger and put it on my board.

Please note, this is just for a single project and for personal use.

Thanks!

It definitely needs a bootloader AFAIK, see pg 14 here https://static1.squarespace.com/static/ … 230114.pdf

Is there any reason you can’t just use it as-is? (size?)

yes size is indeed the reason…I guess I need to desolder the chip and solder it on my PCB, thanks!

I thought the serial bootloader the guide was referring to, was the STM serial bootloader from factory
