Wav Trigger Dead after firmware update

Hello, i recently received a wav trigger wig-13660, put some wav files on an sd card, powered up with a 12 vdc 1 amp power supply, triggered inputs and the card worked as it should. I then updated the firmware to the latest version successfully as per the firmware loader with an ftdi basic. i I powered down the card, set it to run and now it’s dead! it will not power up at all, cannot connect to it either. Not sure what i did wrong for this to happen. Is there any way to get this to work or is it dead?

Thanks

Albert

Because it uses the permanent STMicro bootloader in the STM32F4, it’s next to impossible to brick the WAV Trigger. Even if you program totally corrupt firmware that crashes, you still should be able to simply reprogram it with good firmware.

I have no idea what might have happened in your case, but the first thing I’d try is to reprogram other firmware versions. If you can’t reprogram it at all, or none of the versions work, then I’d begin to suspect a hardware problem with your board, your FTDI, power supply, etc.

I cannot get the unit to power up at all. My voltage is good. My pc recognizes the ftdi basic. The led on the board does not blink at all. I have tried 12 volts plugged into the barrel connector, usb power cable into v in beside the barrel connector. Sd card removed. I measure 5 volts on one side of the contacts beside the speaker out leads. When i try to resend the firmware it times out and does not connect. It worked fine for about 5 minutes with a set of powered speakers plugged into the line out connector. I used the piano wav files. And triggered the inputs ok. When i did send the firmware initially, the program confirmed that the update was successful Not sure what else i can try.

Thank you for your time
