WAV Trigger Sound File Issue

I don’t know what’s up with it but I uploaded a few test sounds which seemed to work fine. I then uploaded several more and some of them didn’t want to work. I exported them via audacity with all the same settings as the previous ones so it’s not the hertz or bit rate. What’s really weird is a sound that WAS working (attached), isn’t now. I tried changing the name to just 001.wav instead of 001-name.wav just to see if maybe it was a hyphen or underscore making it mad.

Anyone have a list of troubleshooting tips to see why a sound isn’t working?

Again, the one attached worked at first, then after adding more sounds, it won’t work now.

Couple extra notes:

Everything was set as default except Trigger 7 which I made Level instead of Edge

On first upload I set 4 RAND with range 4-8 and didn’t assign anything to 5-8… thought maybe that was the problem so I reassigned those as Contact-EDGE, resaved the file to the drive, all files are in root dir, still nothing.

Please make sure that you have converted the files to Unsigned 8-bit PCM as shown here: https://www.aranacorp.com/en/create-aud … r-arduino/

Would that cause intermittent or consistent issues? Every file I’ve uploaded to my board has been exported the exact same way. If it’s a difference between the bit, then there must be more to it. If not, I’m curious how that affects it. If you happen to know that’d be great just for my own personal knowledge, in the mean time I will try converting some of them.

Note, I’m not using a micro controller.

Edit: I changed a handful of problem files to the 8bit unsigned. They still do not trigger.

Edit: Also - from the FAQ

  1. If you’ve gotten this far and tracks won’t play, then it’s most likely that your WAV files are not the correct format. The WAV Trigger will only play WAV files formatted as 16-bit, stereo, 44.1kHz, and there can be no meta-data (non-audio data) in the file before the audio data.

So, my files are originally 44.1 x 16 with no meta-data so it should meet the requirements.

I don’t know at which point my powerup sound stopped working but I don’t ever recall making any changes to it. I just know it worked when I first uploaded it then it seemed to stop working.

With that said… I double checked the FAQ and noted it said it HAS TO BE STEREO. So I went back and double checked my files and sure enough, they were mono.

They function now. Just wanted to add this to the thread for anyone following up on having a similar issue so you don’t have to post a question and get the typical “get guud scrub”, “read the manual”, or just plain silence like it were some kinda stack overflow forum.

Works a treat now. Good luck future tinkerers!
