There are some many GPS brands in the market. So which brand did you use or are you using? Is it good? How do you like it? Let 's share our opinion here.
Look for a GPS receiver that uses an SiRFstarIII chipset - in my opinion this is the best GPS chipset avaiable today. Leadtek has several GPS modules based on this chipset. They have been a pioneer in GPS products since 1997.
I like u-blox. They are used a lot by the military and government agencies, because of their high sensitivity.

I’ve been using some wintec BT units that can do 10Hz (sans WAAS) which are ublox based.
However I’ve been playing with the SkyTraq - Venus GPS units and like them better - they can do 10Hz with WAAS, have AGPS I can actually use, can log (albeit limited to the flash chips they support - I just got a 64kbit working).
I tried others before, and there are a few which might be more sensitive (the new MTK 61 channel), but in general the Venus is better and more flexible hardware wise.
+1, sensitivity is the most improtant thing for GPS.leon_heller:

Cool! A gps made by yourself? So how can it give you the audio prompts in navigating?..
Hahaha, anyway it’s fantastic! Maybe better than my zorro.
i prefer to Garmin nüvi 350 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator ,
Big screen, light and small design. good GPS receiver. voice guidance, trip computer, 8 hour battery, built in speaker, sd card slot. and its not costly.
Which is exactly why you shouldn't use them anymore!!Gsm Man:

SiRFIII is very very very old these days, and probably not even in my top 10 list of GPS chipsets.
The MTK chipset is the “new” SiRFIII, but there are better chipsets out there. The MTK chipset however is the most widely used newer chipset.
Ublox are very good, but they are not very good for the hobbyist, procuring the modules in small quantities is hard.
Skytraq Venus is a new one to watch out for I think. Very very good sensitivity (better than ublox), lower current consumption too.
Now days, I am partial to the Micro Module MN5010HS. Small size, runs on 5V, sensitive and fair price for the performance (~$40).
