Windows 10 does not recognize USB connection to DNSS FLEX breakout

Tested USB C cable, freshly installed Windows 10, CH342SER installed, Firewall disabled, USB connected direct to motherboard.

Sparkfun quickly replaced the first GNSS breakout board, neither board is recognized. A noname Arduino using CH340 chip is recognized.

I am either unlucky or I am frying boards?

Any ideas?

Please check that you are connecting to the UART port, not the USB port.

It certainly helps. I am confused, can you explain why I should connect the USB to the UART socket instead of the USB socket, not intuitive. What is the USB connector for?

Is there a paragraph in the docs I have overlooked?

The “USB” connector provides a direct connection on GNSS modules that support USB: mosaic and ZED.

The “UART” connector provides access to GNSS UART1 and UART2 via a CH342 interface.
