No connection via USB - Sparkfun NEO-M9N/Windows 10

Hello together,

I have a Sparkfun NEO-M9N (GPS-17285) breakout board and I plugged the board into my Windows 10 PC to check the signal with u-center. My expectation was to either find the GPS module in the Device Manager under Ports or Sensors but neither was the case. There was also no information popping up about a driver being installed for a device. As there was no device in the Device Manager there was obiously no device at a COM port in u-center, too. On another Windows PC I had the same problem but with an Arduino Uno and the Sketch given in the Hookup Guide (https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/sp … -guide/all) I was receiving data from the module.

As I understood the u-blox documentation the USB port can be used for data transmission and not only for powering up the module or am I missing something essential? Maybe someone can help me with my problem and if I forgot something I’ll be happy to provide these information.

Thank you in advance!

The drivers should load auto-magically…wihtout a pop-up.

Try using a different usb port and/or usb cable, and maybe ensure there isn’t a pending windows update or something

Does it work with the Uno on the 1st PC?
