Arduino IDE Does Nor Recognize Red Board (with QWIC)

My very first SparkFun project and I can’t get it off the ground: the Arduino IDE will not connect to the Red Board.

I downloaded and executed CH341SER. I “uninstalled” and the result was “No Device Found”. I “Installed” and the result was “The driver is successfully Pre-installed in advance”.

Device manager shows no ports and the IDE says no connection. How do I get the Red Board to connect?

Could be a bad USB cable, try a know good data USB cable and see if that helps get it showing up in device manager.

Actually, you are right on. It suddenly occurred to me that mu USB cable may be power only. I used a SparkFun cable and it linked right up. I am embarrassed by this - I should have thought it before writing. Thanks for responding.
