Eagle Schematic to Solidworks Drawing

Does anyone know how I can take my Eagle Schematic and add it into my solidworks drawing? Or of a schematic software that can do this? I do not have the right visio version to do it with that.

Please list all available export and import options for each package.

If anyone figures this out let me know.

I use both Eagle for electrical design and Solidworks for mechanical design, but if they were friends it would make me happy.

If you want your schematic in 3D, I recommend Eagle3D, but I used it with PovRay, but maybe you can also export the schematics to a Solidworks-compatible file.

Michael

Here’s a tool that claims to be able to turn Gerbers into DXFs: http://www.artwork.com/gerber/gbr2dxf/ Eagle can generate Gerbers, and Solidworks can import DXFs, so it should work, though I haven’t actually tried it.

My hacked solution has been to take a screenshot, open it in Adobe Illustrator, and then trace over it. Illustrator can export DXFs natively, which I can then open in Solidworks. This gets you the shape, but you lose the scale in the tracing step. Not a great solution, but it’s been good enough for making diagrams and simple mechanical drawings.
