Jetson Nano // Sparkfun Jetbot

Hi,

I recently bought the Sparkfun Jetbot robot kit (without the Jetson Nano) and assembled the robot. I am now looking at purchasing the jetson nano board, but based on some of the comments online it seems that the jetson nano is nearing the end of its life. Something to do with NVIDIA not supporting the latest versions of Ubuntu for Jetson Nano.

As I am completely new to the world of robotics/electronics, I was hoping someone could help guide me down the right path with this decision or help me understand what I need to watch out for. Would it be a waste of money to buy the Jetson Nano today? I’ve attached link below to the product I’m looking at on Amazon (since its out of stock on your website).

Thanks in advance for the support!

You can still run all of the older libraries on the older version of ubuntu, so it’s a bit of a judgment call. But you could use whatever board you’d like for the control…we just only have instructions for the Jetson.

I have a bunch and still haven’t done everything possible with them using what already exists out there, so I’d lean toward it being worth it

Thanks Russel
